Based in Berlin/Tallinn.
I am a visual artist with a background in choreography and performance. My work examines notions of efficiency and exhaustion, investigating how they shape bodily systems. I create sculptural and installative scenes, as well as site-specific interventions, that open up anatomical and architectural interiors. With a Brutal tenderness these works reveal the mechanisms that nourish the organs of living bodies, buildings and machines.
In my practice, I combine dysfunctional car parts and automotive fluids—such as used motor oil—with sanitary and medical equipment. The collected materials, including hoses, pipes, tension straps, safety belts, canisters, and plastic foils, are reassembled or transformed through thermoplastic processes and merge into hybrid systems through which fluids circulate.
Even though these systems appear to be self-sustaining bodies, they deliberately forgo the efficient support of motors and pumps. Instead, they rely on regular intensive, hands-on maintenance—hacked, not for improvement but to expose its inherent fragility. The slow oozing, dripping, and leaking are expressions of pleasure and resistance. They offer a decelerated, tactile engagement with time and a sensual encounter with toxicity. Functionality is momentarily suspended.
